Lopez Medical Clinic Transition

The University of Washington will not be renewing its contracts to operate the UW Medicine Lopez Island Clinic. 🔗 Read the full announcement at lopezislandhd.org.

➤ What Does This Mean? 

  •  The UW Medicine Lopez Island Clinic will remain open through June 30, 2026. 
  •  Primary Care Services: 
  • PA Sam Rich is seeing patients in person at the Clinic on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays.
  • ARNP Preicy Frianeza-Garin is available full-time, Monday through Friday via telehealth.
  • Same-day telehealth appointments are often available within one hour. Learn more at: uwmedicine.org/virtual-care/same-day-primary-care
  •  Visiting MDs and other primary care providers will periodically visit the Clinic to provide care. Watch for announcements with specific dates and details.
  • Lopez Island Physical Therapy operates independently of the UW Clinic and is not closing.

Two working groups are now in place—one to oversee the process and guide the search for a healthcare partner, and the other to develop a potential independent clinic model. Over the next 30–40 days, each group will gather data and engage with the community.

  • Same-day appointments often available within 1 hour
