Commissioner Vacancy and Nominations Announcement

December 2, 2025 

The Lopez Island Hospital District Board announces its nomination of Christa Campbell to fill Commissioner Position #1, in accordance with RCW 42.12.080. 

This appointed position carries a two-year unexpired term, concluding after the 2027 election cycle and is open due to resignation. 

Public nominations for Position #1 will be accepted for a period of 15 days.  

To be eligible for appointment, applicants must be registered voters in San Juan County and residents of Lopez Island.  

Interested individuals should submit a letter of interest to Superintendent Edee Scriven at superintendent@lopezislandhd.org no later than noon on Wednesday, December 17, 2025. 

Interviews with eligible candidates will be conducted during the Regular Board Meeting on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. The Board will make the final appointment for Position #1 at this open public meeting directly after the interviews, public comment, and an Executive Session of the Board.
